About the position

The Express Assist Patrol Operator is a part-time role focused on providing safety service patrol assistance on designated highway routes. The operator will assist disabled motorists, maintain traffic flow, and support emergency services, ensuring roadway safety and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Patrol a designated highway route in a company truck.
• Assist disabled motorists and maintain the flow of traffic.
• Support local and state Police, Fire, or Emergency Service Units for scene safety.
• Provide Traffic Incident Management services.
• Monitor the safety of roadways and assist with disabled or abandoned vehicles, lane closures, and debris in the roadway.
• Use provided tools and equipment for roadside assistance, including changing tires, jump-starting batteries, and providing coolant or fuel.
• Work closely with and assist other first responders with incident management.
• Maintain an online system for reporting incidents.
• Coordinate with Traffic Management Centers to follow directives.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Automotive mechanical knowledge or 2+ years of experience in a similar field.
• 3+ years of driving experience with a demonstrated safe driving record.
• Ability to perform physical demands of the job, including lifting tires and floor jacks.
• Knowledge of vehicle operations and safety guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

• General working knowledge of traffic incident management.
• Military, Police, or Firefighter background.
