About the position

The Assistant University Extension Educator for 4-H Youth Development in Teton County, Wyoming, is responsible for delivering educational programs aimed at youth development. This role involves leadership in organizing and supporting 4-H programs, recruiting and training volunteers, and fostering partnerships with community organizations. The position is integral to the University of Wyoming's outreach efforts in the local community, focusing on positive youth development and educational opportunities for diverse populations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement educational programs, policies, materials, and activities for the Wyoming 4-H program.
  • Organize, coordinate, and support participation in 4-H events, camps, clinics, contests, and fairs.
  • Provide leadership in recruiting, training, and retaining adult volunteers.
  • Provide leadership in recruiting and retaining youth members in clubs.
  • Support 4-H Clubs, 4-H Councils, and project committees.
  • Communicate educational opportunities to volunteers, youth, and parents through various formats.
  • Develop partnerships with other youth-serving groups, schools, or organizations.
  • Coordinate registration, supervision, and transportation for participants in 4-H events.
  • Implement program evaluation, documentation, and reporting.
  • Oversee financial and fundraising efforts involving 4-H youth and volunteers.
  • Foster a culture of positive youth development in all programming efforts.
  • Contribute to various teams including county office and state 4-H initiatives.

Requirements

  • An earned bachelor's degree relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Valid driver's license with a compliant motor vehicle record.
  • Demonstrated prior 4-H and/or youth development experience.
  • Knowledge of positive youth development principles and teaching methods.
  • Skills to organize and facilitate educational programs and activities.

  • Academic training or experience in specific 4-H projects.
  • Knowledge of educational program development, implementation, and evaluation.
