The Extension Program Coordinator at the University of Illinois Extension plays a crucial role in enhancing the visibility and recognition of the Extension and 4-H brand images. This position is responsible for developing strategic marketing decisions that ensure these brands are well represented both online and offline, including in print, radio, and television. The coordinator will work collaboratively with Extension staff to identify programming needs within the unit and develop targeted strategies to address those needs effectively. In terms of marketing and promotion, the Extension Program Coordinator will determine promotional methods, compile information, and deliver materials and reports that enhance the visibility of the University of Illinois Extension. This includes assisting in the development of marketing plans aimed at recruiting participants for educational activities, creating advertising and publicity materials such as newsletters, fliers, displays, and web-based content. Additionally, the coordinator will maintain a photo file of pictures and videos from local activities and programs to utilize in marketing and program reports. The role also involves training, networking, and collaboration. The coordinator will participate in program development across all Extension program areas, working closely with the County Director, Extension Educators, and other staff and volunteers. This includes networking with local advisory groups and community organizations to assess needs and develop educational activities accordingly. The coordinator will facilitate program-related meetings and workshops and assist in obtaining financial support for programs or activities, which may include seeking sponsors and fundraising. Program reporting is another key responsibility, where the coordinator will disseminate educational information provided by Extension professionals to the public and stakeholders. This includes coordinating the gathering of information needed for the annual impact report and assisting in program evaluation to improve ongoing programs. The coordinator will also compile media lists for marketing programs and ensure compliance with Federal Civil Rights requirements. The position requires compliance with Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity policies and participation in staff and professional development opportunities. The Extension Program Coordinator must be prepared to perform work both in an office setting and in the community, requiring personal transportation and a valid driver's license. The role may involve working during evenings and weekends and entails various physical demands, including the ability to transport items weighing up to 40 pounds and navigate different environmental conditions.
