About the position

The External Affairs Manager for Government Affairs and Public Policy at Google is responsible for representing the company before external stakeholders and engaging with key opinion formers across various policy areas that impact Google and its users. This role involves collaborating with internal teams to design outreach strategies and ensuring a coordinated approach to public policy initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a representative of Google before external stakeholders, including non-governmental advocacy organizations, think tanks, industry associations, and policy influencers.
• Engage directly with key opinion formers across a range of policy areas impacting Google, such as technology innovation, AI, competition, privacy, and security.
• Collaborate with the Government Affairs and Public Policy team, Product, and Partnerships teams to design and execute outreach strategies.
• Develop and lead meetings, events, convenings, and product-focused initiatives to help external organizations understand Google's products, services, and public policy priorities.
• Meet regularly and track areas of mutual alignment with external organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience working on public policy issues within government, think tanks, public interest groups, or relevant industry associations.
• Experience influencing and working with a variety of stakeholders and executing strategies.
