About the position

The External Operations Project Manager I at Boston Scientific is responsible for leading the Operations aspect of new product development projects, site transfers, acquisition integrations, and other manufacturing initiatives related to Sourced Finished Device (SFD) products. This role involves managing multiple projects of varying sizes simultaneously, ensuring seamless execution and effective communication across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams consisting of BSC and External Supplier resources.
  • Effectively communicate cross-functionally and provide technical guidance to Core Team members and Leaders.
  • Assemble the cross-functional resources required to drive project completion.
  • Identify, coordinate, and ensure completion of all activities required for assigned projects or tasks.
  • Prioritize projects and activities based on business need, timing, and financial risk.
  • Ensure manufacturability of products transferred into production using various tool kits and best practices.
  • Proactively identify issues that may affect quality, cost, or service levels and work with teams to resolve them.
  • Create project tracking plans, schedules, and risks for projects and communicate across the organization.
  • Delegate and manage tasks among team members based on their skill level and project risk.
  • Drive day-to-day supplier sustaining initiatives, such as Change Notifications.
  • Resolve conflicts with team members and involve management as required to ensure timely project completion.
  • Develop and present Project Status Updates to upper management and key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years engineering experience (manufacturing, process development or related).
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering.
  • Strong organization and execution skills with a demonstrated ability to handle project completion responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time domestically and internationally.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of relevant project management experience in Operations or Development.
  • Experience working with external suppliers or as a supplier to large customers.
  • Medical Device manufacturing experience, including familiarity with equipment qualification and process validation.
  • Familiarity with identifying, driving, and implementing continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience in manufacturing production transfers.
  • PMP certification a plus.
