About the position

As the External Reporting and Technical Accounting Senior Manager at Verizon, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the regulatory compliance of financial reports filed by the company. This involves a thorough review of financial reports to ensure they meet the ever-changing compliance standards and are prepared using the appropriate financial resources. You will be responsible for implementing monitoring procedures related to the regulatory compliance of the financial ledger, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting. In this position, you will also be tasked with approving and correcting journal entries to prevent any adverse impacts on reporting. You will serve as the front-line liaison to Legal financial support, assisting them directly with regulatory issues and redirecting them to the appropriate finance contacts as necessary. Additionally, you will plan the development, testing, and analysis of regulatory requirements during financial system conversions, ensuring that all processes align with compliance standards. Managing audits, both planned and ad-hoc, will also be a significant part of your responsibilities. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential compliance issues and implementing solutions to address them effectively. Your expertise will contribute to the overall financial health and regulatory standing of Verizon, making this a vital position within the organization.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • An advanced degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Working knowledge of ERPs, with an emphasis on SAP.
  • MIS skills.
