About the position
The Extra Help Counselor will provide mental health services to students at the University of Illinois Springfield. This role involves direct services, phone intake, documentation of services, and risk assessment. The counselor will also provide psychoeducational services, including trainings for students, faculty, and staff, as well as supportive services such as consultation, group therapy, and rehabilitation. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Provide mental health services to students including direct services and phone intake.
- Document services and conduct risk assessments.
- Deliver psychoeducational services and trainings to students, faculty, and staff.
- Offer supportive services including consultation, group therapy, and rehabilitation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Active license in Illinois to provide mental health services (LPC, LCPC, MSW).

- Previous counseling experience.
