The Extra Help/Trojan Works Editor's Assistant position at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock is designed for degree-seeking students who are enrolled in classes at the time of application. As an Editor's Assistant, the student will engage in various tasks that support the Office of Communications and Marketing. Responsibilities include writing news stories about campus events, achievements of students, faculty, and staff, and creating digital newsletters for the UA Little Rock community. The assistant will also be responsible for copy editing communications to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. Collaboration with professional staff and other student employees is essential to develop a variety of content marketing materials. Additionally, the assistant will staff the Communications and Marketing front desk and perform other duties as assigned to assist employees in the office. This position requires the ability to work up to 20 hours per week, primarily during normal business hours from Monday to Friday, with the potential for some evening and weekend work to cover special events. The role offers a salary of $11.00 per hour and requires a cover letter for consideration. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Degree-seeking UA Little Rock students enrolled in classes at the time of application.
  • Eligible to legally work 20 hours per week in the United States.
  • Must be ineligible for Federal Work-Study (FWS).
  • Experience or majoring in mass communication, applied communication, rhetoric and writing, advertising, marketing, or a related field.
