About the position

Craig Technologies is seeking an Extra Vehicular Activity (EVA) Operations Flight Controller to join our team at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. This position is part of the Integrated Mission Operations Contract (IMOC III), which provides essential flight control and training support for various NASA programs, including the International Space Station (ISS) Operations, Exploration, Commercial Crew Program, Gateway, xEVA, and the Human Landing System (HLS). As a member of the EVA, Robotics, and Mechanical Systems Organization, the selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting NASA's Flight Operations Directorate in the EVA discipline. The successful candidate will undergo training on ISS EVA concepts and will likely take on a leadership role in EVA exploration programs. This role offers the opportunity for future certifications as an EVA instructor or flight controller in the Mission Control Center (MCC). The candidate will be responsible for leading EVA future mission operations, providing development and integration support, and ensuring effective collaboration with diverse organizations. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for developing close working relationships and facilitating frequent interactions with various teams. In addition to technical responsibilities, the candidate will be required to deliver technical and high-level presentations to various panels and forums. Participation in group efforts to streamline and upgrade technical and administrative processes will also be a key aspect of this role. The position may require night, weekend, and holiday work for integrated simulations and flight support, as well as domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related technical area.
  • Technical background with a good understanding of engineering principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and outstanding organizational skills.
  • Ability to participate in a team environment and function well under pressure.
  • Strong multi-tasking and work prioritization skills.
  • Meet JSC requirements for certification as a Flight Controller.
  • Ability to pass a standard flight controller physical examination and security clearances.
