About the position

The Extruder Operator position is a skilled role that reports to the Plant Superintendent. This role requires the operator to work proficiently with others while also being capable of working independently. The primary responsibility of the Extruder Operator is to apply compounded rubber stock to customer rolls through the extrusion process, ensuring safety and efficiency in all operations. The Extruder Operator will be responsible for operating roll rotating equipment, overhead cranes, and forklifts safely and efficiently. Additionally, the operator will utilize hand and power tools, accurately weigh raw materials for blending, and follow written mixing instructions. Completing necessary paperwork to document covering variables is also a key task. The operator will be expected to learn to operate new equipment as upgrades occur and must be able to read and understand standard prints and instructions. Other responsibilities may include maintenance, housekeeping, painting, and miscellaneous tasks as directed by production supervision. The operator must be willing and able to perform all tasks proficiently, with or without supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • On-the-job training will be provided.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet requirements may be substituted.
