About the position
The Extrusion Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the bulk roll films extruder in accordance with standard operating procedures. This full-time position requires working a 12-hour night shift on a 3-1-3 schedule, with initial training on the day shift for the first 90 days. The role involves monitoring production processes, ensuring quality control, and making necessary adjustments to machinery and operations to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain all processing and material handling equipment within the film extrusion process.
- Follow process procedures or instructions from line operators and team leaders.
- Monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures and related controls to ensure adherence to production specifications.
- Set up machines requiring high level of precision and the interaction of multiple variables.
- Load raw materials, determine and manage machine controls and unload finished product.
- Perform routine tests and check product for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
- Surface any malfunctions or abnormalities of equipment.
- Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
- Continuously review current processes and search out improvement methods to improve product/process quality and reduce waste or rework.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
- Possess or acquire within specified timing any licensures necessary to perform job.
- Strong detail orientation and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability to support production and customer focus.
