About the position

The Extrusion Operator - Shift C position at Centrotherm involves operating extrusion lines to fabricate components for the InnoFlue polypropylene vent system. The role requires collaboration with the extrusion team and adherence to safety and quality standards. The position is on the third shift, with initial training during the first shift.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily handoffs to the day shift by communicating production rates and operational status
• Lead night shift team utilizing UCG quality principles with an emphasis on continuous improvement
• Distribute and monitor work orders to team members
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment following the principles of 5S
• Safely operate production equipment and build product per work instructions
• Impart quality into every part through attention to detail and execution of in-process control plan
• Complete daily/weekly preventative maintenance of assigned equipment
• Ensure efficient use of time and equipment, maintaining appropriate records and tight inventory control
• Ensure that manufacturing transactions are accurately entered into the MRP System
• Assist in continuous improvement
• Perform other duties, projects, and assignments as needed

Requirements

• Commitment to workplace safety
• High school degree required; associate's degree preferred
• 2-5 years of experience in operation of extrusion equipment or related skills
• Experience with blow molding, thermal forming, injection molding, or extrusion equipment
• Plastic or metal welding and fabrication certification preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word
• Strong customer focus
• Attention to detail for continuous mental and visual attention
• Good communication skills and self-motivated
• Ability to follow verbal and written communications/directions
• Forklift license is a plus

• Experience with operator roles outside of plastics
