About the position

The Extrusion Process Technician at Pactiv Evergreen is responsible for collaborating with shift operators and process engineers to resolve production issues, support setup and changeovers, and maintain accurate process documentation. This role involves leading efforts to enhance process capabilities, ensuring efficient production rates, and implementing quality improvement programs. The technician will also operate and troubleshoot extrusion and thermoforming equipment, contributing to a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with performing changeovers with minimal downtime
• Ensure all products are running at standard production rate for assigned shift
• Update, review and provide recommendations to plant Process Engineer for process sheet updates
• Develop, implement and execute programs to improve overall product quality and line efficiencies
• Operate and troubleshoot processes and equipment to resolve complex issues
• Guide the overall team's mission in productivity, safety, quality, operations, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in plastics processing, including forming and extrusion
• Experience working with machinery
• Understanding of tooling, machining, and material flow practices for extrusion and thermoforming
• Strong interpersonal skills for training and communication
• Ability to work a 12-hour COP shift

Nice-to-haves

• Two or four year technical degree or certification
• Project team coordinator experience
• Experience with FEA (finite element analysis) and quality gauges
