The Eyewear Specialist at Total Vision is responsible for assisting patients with frame and lens selection, educating them on various eyewear options, and ensuring proper fit and measurements for different lens types. This role involves verifying patient insurance, dispensing glasses, and providing excellent customer service to enhance patient satisfaction. The position requires a strong focus on sales and teamwork, as well as the ability to handle various tasks in a busy optometry practice.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with proper frame and lens selection.
• Educates patients on various options for lenses and sunglasses.
• Ensures proper fit and measurements for all lens types.
• Educates patients on the benefits of having multiple pairs of glasses.
• Verifies patient insurance and explains their benefits.
• Dispenses glasses and informs patients about adaptation to new prescriptions.
• Helps patients with repairs and adjustments.
• Ensures timely return of patient phone calls and informs them of any delays.
• Assists with other tasks as needed in the office.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of related experience or training in optical or customer service.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other software related to manufacturing and payroll.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to exceed patient expectations.
• Sales skills to build relationships and educate patients on options.

Nice-to-haves

• Optical experience preferred.
• Laboratory experience in edging, finishing, and surfacing.
• Ability to cross-train and assist other roles in the office.
