About the position

This position supports the Aeronautics Field Sustainment team's Hill Air Force Base, Utah F-16 System Program Office (SPO) by developing and integrating technical data and technical order changes for avionics and weapons. The role involves authoring Flight Manuals (FMs), coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with Air Force procedures related to aircraft modifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate technical data/technical order changes for avionics and weapons.
  • Author Flight Manuals and support FM review activities.
  • Assist USAF personnel with the preparation of Air Force Technical Order (AFTO) Forms and incorporate comments into draft FMs.
  • Provide Flight Manual Lead support for F-16 Technical Orders impacted by software/hardware modifications.
  • Interface with various teams for scheduling and integration of modification programs into F-16 FMs.
  • Participate in early TO program meetings to identify requirements and potential risks.
  • Coordinate oversight of hardware program ties and overlaps.
  • Monitor program statuses to ensure timely creation and incorporation of technical orders.
  • Alert the Liaison Lead of any late-to-need issues regarding Delivery Orders.
  • Function as a quality assurance entity for all AFTO actions to LM Aero Fort Worth.
  • Monitor authoring progress from the Lockheed FM Team to meet program milestones.
  • Monitor financial performance of the Software F-16 On-site Task Request and provide monthly updates.
  • Collect, write, and submit Weekly Activity Reports.

Requirements

  • 10 years of F-16 Avionics experience and knowledge including Technical Order Authoring.
  • 5 years of direct interface and coordination with the US Government and authoring team at Hill AFB.
  • Experience applying T.O. 00-5-1 and/or Air Force T.O. System requirements.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience interfacing with Aircrew, Engineering, Flight Test, and Pilot SMEs.
  • F-16 European Participating Air Forces (EPAF) experience and knowledge of various EPAF F-16 configurations.
  • Demonstrated advanced interpersonal skills to maintain effective interactions with leadership and peers.
  • Ability to communicate complex requirements and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong computer skills with attention to detail; experience with CAD software and SGML is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in aircraft avionics technical manuals.
