Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) team as an F-16 Avionics Field Service Engineer (FSE) to support the Royal Bahraini Air Force (RBAF) F-16 Block 40 fleet. This position is located in Bahrain and is an accompanied assignment, allowing for an employee plus one. The FSE will provide on-site advice, liaison, and informal training in the installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment and systems related to Block 70 F-16 avionics, both on and off the aircraft. The primary objective of the FSE is to elevate the technical skills and abilities of the personnel responsible for the operation and maintenance of F-16 aircraft and associated equipment/systems to a level of self-sufficiency. Specific tasks include providing on-site and on-equipment informal unit training to the component level on installation, maintenance, and operating techniques. This includes adjustment, calibration, troubleshooting, bench checks, routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of the prime equipment/system. The FSE will also provide advice in identifying and instructing on the use of special tools, handling equipment, aerospace ground equipment (AGE), and test equipment associated with F-16 aircraft and avionics systems. Additionally, the FSE will devise local informal training programs and provide advice in identifying needed training programs, emphasizing safety precautions in all training provided. The role requires rendering technical advice to resolve difficult and unusual maintenance problems, providing consistent analysis of maintenance difficulties, and advising on the establishment of maintenance, inspection, and training programs designed to improve the quality of maintenance. The FSE will act as a liaison to disseminate information related to maintenance and operational problems quickly to operations and maintenance personnel. Training on the use and interpretation of applicable technical orders will also be provided, along with assistance in accident investigations and preparing failure data reports and unsatisfactory reports. Flexibility in working hours is essential to accommodate customer requirements, and candidates must be willing to work a non-standard 40-hour work week as assigned by the leader.
