About the position

The F-16 Avionics or Electrical/Environmental Technician III is responsible for the depot-level modification, upgrade, and testing of aircraft sub-systems to ensure airworthiness. This role involves inspecting, testing, modifying, and repairing avionic and electrical systems, including radar, radio, navigation, and power systems. The technician will work with hand tools and test equipment to perform these duties effectively.

Responsibilities

• Modifies, upgrades, inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs aircraft avionic and electrical systems.
• Inspects components of avionic and electrical systems for defects and accuracy of assembly.
• Tests avionic and electrical systems under simulated or actual operating conditions.
• Adjusts, repairs, and/or replaces defective components based on analysis of test results.
• Calibrates installed, modified, or repaired systems to prescribed specifications when required.
• Operates ground servicing equipment to test, inspect, and verify functionality of avionic systems when required.
• Assists in fabricating wiring harnesses when required.
• Documents all required U.S. Government and program forms and documents accurately.
• Interacts effectively with program and customer representatives.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance, or an Associate's degree plus 4 years of experience, or a High School Diploma plus 8 years of experience.
• F-16 experience is strongly preferred, but other fighter jet experience may be considered.
• 5th generation aircraft experience is a plus.
• Microsoft Office Suite skills are preferred.
