About the position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer for the F-22 test aircraft. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and processing of all aspects of flight test instrumentation. Your primary duties will include hardware acceptance, modification, system integration, checkout, troubleshooting, and repair of flight test instrumentation systems. You will work closely with various disciplines related to flight testing, including maintenance, configuration management, engineering, flight operations, security, and quality assurance. This position requires a commitment to working extended hours and weekends as necessary, and while minimal travel may be required, the majority of your work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. As a level 2 employee, you will typically have 2 to 5 years of professional experience. A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required, or equivalent experience combined with education. Candidates with a Master’s degree in a related field may be considered without prior experience. You must be a U.S. citizen, as this position is located at a facility that requires special access. Responsibilities

  • Design, install, maintain, and process flight test instrumentation for the F-22 test aircraft.
  • Accomplish FTI hardware acceptance, modification, system integration, checkout, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Coordinate and interact with various disciplines related to flight testing, including maintenance, configuration management, engineering, flight operations, security, and quality assurance.
  • Work extended hours and weekends as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Master's degree.
  • Experience working with Aircraft Systems.
  • Experience with reading/interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and maintenance instructions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Flight Test Instrumentation Experience - Design, Installation, Troubleshooting, or Operations.
  • F-22 Aircraft System Knowledge.
  • Experience with strain gauges, accelerometers, and transducers.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products; Word, Outlook, Excel.
