About the position

The F-22 Mission Systems and Fire Control Engineer will join the Flight Test and Evaluation team at Edwards AFB, CA, contributing to the development, testing, and evaluation of the F-22 Raptor's systems. This role involves working closely with the U.S. Air Force and industry partners to enhance the warfighting capabilities of the Air Force through system integration and performance validation. The position requires a strong background in avionics integration and military flight testing, with opportunities for professional growth in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate requirements for various complex communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components.
  • Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electrical/electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures.
  • Develop architectures to integrate complex systems and components into higher level systems and platforms.
  • Perform complicated trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements.
  • Define and conduct critical tests of various kinds to validate performance of designs to requirements.
  • Manage appropriate aspects of critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.
  • Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues.
  • Support project management by providing coordinating development of work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews.
  • Generate major sections of proposals to support development of new business.
  • Work under minimal direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of avionics integration experience.
  • 5+ years of Military Flight Test experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience on military fighter platforms (F-16, F-18, F-22, F-5, F-14, or F-15).
  • F-22 avionics experience.
