About the position

The Database Analyst Advisor will join the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (JPO) at General Dynamics Information Technology in Arlington, VA. This role focuses on providing comprehensive database administration and design support, ensuring the integrity and security of databases while advising users on access and usage. The position involves long-term planning for database requirements, quality control, and the integration of data from various sources, contributing to the overall success of the F-35 IT program.

Responsibilities

  • Administer computerized databases and project long-range requirements for database administration and design.
  • Design, create, and maintain databases in a client/server environment.
  • Conduct quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate data usage.
  • Advise users on access to various client/server databases.
  • Design, implement, and maintain complex databases, including JCL, access methods, and validation checks.
  • Perform database programming and support systems design, including maintenance of database dictionaries.
  • Integrate data from various files, including Microsoft Access, Excel, SQL, and Oracle.
  • Perform Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) and Quality Control/Quality Assurance.
  • Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems.
  • Coordinate changes to computer databases and perform patching and STIG'ing for SQL databases.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in database administration, security, and integrity.
  • Proficiency in programming and writing scripts in MS-SQL, T-SQL, or UNIX.
  • Experience in database design and creation using best practices, including importing, exporting, indexing, and backup.
  • BS/BA degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
