About the position

The F-35 Principal Product Trainer position at Northrop Grumman involves supporting the F-35 Training and Courseware Program by serving as an instructor and Subject Matter Expert (SME). The role requires developing, validating, and conducting classroom instruction for military services and foreign partners. The trainer will collaborate with technical editors and writers to create various instructional materials and will engage with government customers in technical discussions to fulfill program commitments. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and conduct classroom instruction as part of the Maintenance Training Team (MTT).
• Assist technical editors and writers in creating instructional materials such as student guides and test packages.
• Interface with government customers and participate in internal and government IPTs technical discussions.
• Present thoughts and ideas clearly to a wide range of audiences.
• Collaborate with team members to complete complex training materials and schedules.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with 8 years of applied experience, or 5 years with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a Master's degree.
• Experience on strike/fighter military aircraft as a maintainer or instructor.
• Experience in training content delivery and instructor methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management Systems.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including extended shifts, holidays, and weekends.
• Interim Secret security clearance required to start.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous F-35 maintenance instructor experience.
• Experience as a military training developer and/or instructor courseware writer.
• 1-3 years of experience managing instructors and/or writers.
• 3 years of experience managing development and/or delivery of Computer-Based Training courseware.
• Experience using Adobe Captivate for eLearning authoring software.
