About the position

The F-35 Block-4 Production Chief Engineer at BAE Systems is responsible for leading a cross-functional team to deliver the next generation Electronic Warfare (EW) system for the F-35. This role involves collaboration across development and production teams to ensure a successful transition to production and integration of Block 4 EW hardware. The Chief Engineer will oversee technical issues in the production supply chain, support hardware and test development, and interface with customers and stakeholders to ensure high-quality product delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team for the F-35 Block-4 production.
  • Ensure successful transition-to-production (TTP) and cut-in of Block 4 EW hardware.
  • Provide technical oversight for Block 4 hardware and test development.
  • Interface with production teams and customers to resolve technical issues.
  • Support proposal development activities including cost estimating and presentations.
  • Conduct root cause/corrective action investigations for major program technical issues.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with 12+ years of experience, or 10+ years with a Master's, or 8+ years with a Ph.D.
  • Active US Government security clearance with the ability to obtain TS clearance.
  • Leadership experience directing and mentoring engineers on complex production programs.
  • Firm understanding of production processes and documentation needs (MRB, SDL, ESS, ATP procedures).
  • Expertise in RF and Digital System Architectures.
  • Strong skills in documenting, communicating, and leading root cause and corrective action processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline with 13+ years of experience, or Ph.D. with 11+ years of experience.
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare (EW) and/or Radar and Missile Systems.
  • Experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management.
