About the position

The F&B Attendant at Wind Creek Chicago Southland is a vital role responsible for delivering friendly and efficient service of food and beverage items to guests in the Food Bazaar. This position requires a commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience, ensuring that all guests feel welcomed and valued. The F&B Attendant will engage with guests, educate them about the gourmet stations, and make recommendations based on their preferences. Additionally, the role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization in the workstation, ensuring that service stations are well-stocked with necessary supplies, and promptly clearing and resetting tables after guests depart. The F&B Attendant is expected to embody the company’s values of enthusiasm, accountability, and customer focus, contributing to a positive atmosphere that enhances the overall guest experience. The purpose of this position is to create an engaging environment where guests can escape their routine and enjoy a sense of belonging. The F&B Attendant plays a crucial role in this mission by providing attentive service, being mindful of guests' needs, and ensuring that all safety and sanitation standards are met. This role requires a high level of maturity, dependability, and punctuality, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in English. The F&B Attendant must also be willing to work flexible hours, including odd and irregular shifts, and participate in training as required. Responsibilities

  • Reports to workstation as scheduled in proper uniform and ready to work
  • Completes all side-work as directed by supervisor
  • Keeps workstation and F&B Attendant area neat, clean, and free of safety hazards
  • Keeps service stations stocked with needed supplies, glassware, ice, and condiments
  • Greets guests in a friendly professional manner
  • Educates guests on all gourmet stations and suggests favorites
  • Monitors guest allergies and notifies chefs immediately
  • Checks back with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meal and addresses any needs
  • Pre-busses all tables and takes used dishes to the dish room
  • Clears tables upon guest departure and resets according to standards in a timely manner
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and completing a GED program within six months from the start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older
  • Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
  • Ability to adequately and successfully perform all aspects of this position
  • Willingness and ability to lift and carry 40 pounds
  • Must possess a high level of maturity, dependability, and punctuality
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Must complete BASSET training
  • Must complete ServeSafe Sanitation training
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position
