About the position

The F&B Server at Tonkawa Hotel & Casino is responsible for providing efficient and correct service of food and beverages to patrons, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable dining experience. The role involves various tasks from taking orders to serving food, and requires adherence to casino procedures and state laws.

Responsibilities

  • Escort customers to their tables.
  • Assist customers with seating arrangements.
  • Answer phones to take to-go orders and greet, seat, and thank guests.
  • Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.
  • Take orders from patrons for food or beverages.
  • Write patrons' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, and enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
  • Prepare hot or cold beverages.
  • Check patrons' identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Inform customers of daily specials.
  • Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
  • Serve food or beverages to patrons, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
  • Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
  • Process customer bills or payments.
  • Collect payments from customers.
  • Communicate with customers to resolve complaints or ensure satisfaction.
  • Perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning desserts, and brewing coffee.
  • Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
  • Roll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties.
  • Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
  • Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
  • Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining.
  • Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
  • Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, and taking out trash.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Previous server experience preferred.
  • Valid HIS Food Handlers Certificate required.
  • Current ABLE Commission Liquor License required.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to responsibly handle cash transactions.
  • Ability to consolidate and coordinate needs for all tables within their section.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Understanding and compliance with all Company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
