The position of Litigation Paralegal at a prestigious Long Island law firm involves supporting the Litigation Department with a focus on commercial litigation. The role requires a candidate with a solid background in legal procedures and documentation, as well as proficiency in relevant software and systems. The firm offers a supportive work environment with a strong emphasis on collaboration and integration of new hires.

Responsibilities

• Aiding in discovery, including review, organization, indexing, and summarizing documents.
• Assisting in preparing pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
• Preparing for depositions and trials.
• Conducting legal research using Westlaw.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Bachelor's Degree or a valid Paralegal Certificate.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with New York State's e-filing system (NYSCEF) and Federal Court PACER system.
• Knowledge of State and Federal Court rules and procedures.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in legal research (Westlaw) is preferred.
