About the position

The Senior Principal Systems Integration Engineer will lead the design and subsystem integration for the F135 Engine Core Upgrade Program, focusing on modernizing the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. This role involves close collaboration with various teams to develop plans, execute integration activities, and ensure compliance with program requirements. The engineer will utilize agile methodologies to manage integration tasks and provide regular updates to leadership, contributing to the overall success of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and subsystem integration as a Sub-system Integrated Product Team (SSIPT) Lead.
  • Develop plans and execute integration activities for the F135 Engine Core Upgrade Program.
  • Collaborate with Product Safety, Certification and Validation, and Component Integrated Product Teams to define SSIPT requirements.
  • Manage agile planning and digital transformation activities for design integration.
  • Analyze, decompose, validate, and document functional system requirements.
  • Execute design integration activities including configuration management and interface management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • 7+ years of experience with engine systems and/or electrical and/or mechanical integration for military aircraft.
  • 7+ years of experience in design/project or structural/thermal/performance analyses.
  • 7+ years of experience working in a matrix organization and integrating across multiple engineering functions.
  • 1+ years of experience with testing or instrumentation systems for aero engine verification and validation.
  • 2+ years of experience with project management and/or Agile engineering practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active Security Clearance.
  • Experience as an IPT leader or equivalent in leading technical teams in design/project integration.
  • Knowledge of International Trade Compliance (ITC) and experience in export jurisdiction and classification.
  • Familiarity with jet engine operation and module center product knowledge.
  • Experience working with military customers and presenting to military and PW leadership.
