The manager is responsible for making hiring and firing decisions, reviewing employee performance, recommending compensation, coaching for improved performance, and administering discipline as necessary. Building strong internal and external relationships is essential, as the manager will need to exchange information and provide explanations in a problem-solving capacity. The role also includes coordinating resources such as materials, personnel, and equipment to achieve on-time production of quality products within budget guidelines. The manager identifies and resolves bottlenecks in the production and repair processes, guiding teams to continuously improve operations. A deep understanding of the production process, tools, and equipment is necessary, along with knowledge of materials and processes that impact customer satisfaction, product quality, and profitability. Effective communication with a diverse range of internal and external customers is critical, as is the ability to lead, manage, train, and motivate employees to achieve high production levels within tight deadlines.
