About the position

The FAA Test Technician position is responsible for performing disassembly, assembly, re-work, and testing of various electrical and electronic equipment. This role requires adherence to safety and attendance standards, as well as the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with limited supervision. The technician will also assist with efficiency improvement projects and maintain accurate records of work performed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
  • Maintain an acceptable safety record.
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Willing to learn to test and troubleshoot various products as required.
  • Complete necessary training to maintain knowledge and skills required for job performance.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Position requires overtime to production schedules and demands.
  • Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Self-monitor work progress against fast-paced area benchmarks and achieve on time delivery of all work.
  • Assist with area efficiency and 6S improvement projects.
  • Assist other departments with job duties and tasks, as needed within the scope of expertise.
  • Perform maintenance and alteration tasks in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers' instructions for continued airworthiness, services bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
  • Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, with limited supervision.
  • Properly record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance record.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in an electronics manufacturing/testing environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Ability to utilize manual and automated test equipment to test digital and analog circuitry.
  • Ability to read schematics and understand circuit functions.
  • Fluent communication in technical terms both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate environmental test chambers.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
