About the position
The Façade Engineer/Architect position at CTLGroup involves overseeing the structural repairs and exterior façade restoration of medium and high-rise buildings. The role requires a strong understanding of building envelope systems and the ability to collaborate with architects, designers, and contractors to ensure successful project execution. The engineer will work on a variety of projects, from historic landmarks to modern skyscrapers, and will be responsible for conducting façade inspections and providing engineering recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Administer and implement all phases of work related to structural repairs and exterior façade restoration.
- Conduct façade inspections of medium and high-rise buildings via suspended scaffold.
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis, and construction cost estimates.
- Perform construction-related services including shop drawing reviews and responses to requests for information.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and building contractors on design and construction projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of building exterior restoration experience.
- Fundamental understanding of Building Envelope systems.
- Knowledge of historic building structural systems.
- Good understanding of Building Codes related to construction projects.
- Ability to read and comprehend architectural and engineering plans.
- Knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, and industry standards.
- PE license required; FE will be considered.
- Experience with structural analysis software.
- Ability to perform structural analysis of reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of Design software for structural analysis (ETABS, RAM, SAP2000, SAFE, GSA, etc.).
- Familiarity with general collaboration software (e.g., Bluebeam Studio).
- Experience with AutoCAD.
