About the position

Nell Hill's is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fabric Consultant to join our team in Kansas City, MO. This part-time position offers an opportunity to work in a vibrant and customer-focused environment where you will play a crucial role in assisting customers with their fabric selections. As a Fabric Consultant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, which includes greeting customers, understanding their needs, and guiding them through the fabric selection process. Your ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with clients will be essential in ensuring they have a positive shopping experience. In addition to customer interaction, the Fabric Consultant will be tasked with practical responsibilities such as lifting and cutting fabric bolts, measuring and cutting custom orders, and accurately documenting these orders. Attention to detail is paramount, as you will need to maintain precise inventory records and ensure that all fabric samples are hung and organized properly. The role also involves performing general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean working environment, contributing to the overall aesthetic and functionality of the store. Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with fabric selections and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Lift and cut fabric bolts as per customer orders.
  • Measure and cut custom orders accurately and document them.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of fabric and supplies.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
  • Greet and assist customers in all aspects of fabrication.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a similar industry or environment is beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer care.
