About the position

The Fabricating Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the finishing activities in the corrugated packaging department, ensuring efficient operations and safety on the assigned shift. This role involves managing personnel, coordinating production activities, and maintaining quality standards while fostering a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activity with the Production Manager and Shift Superintendent to manage shift work orders and ensure quality requirements.
  • Schedule work and provide direct oversight of employees, approving time records and implementing company policy.
  • Engage in employee development activities and make recommendations on hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
  • Conduct ongoing employee training on equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations, and waste control.
  • Ensure departmental operations align with continuous improvement policies.
  • Supervise the efficient operation of equipment and inspect materials and products to prevent malfunctions.
  • Analyze fabricating performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and execute strategies to enhance processes and equipment.
  • Participate in production meetings and provide necessary updates.
  • Verify job quality and investigate customer complaints regarding finishing quality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous Lead or Supervisory experience with training, teambuilding, performance development, and conflict resolution.
  • 2+ years of corrugated manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some college or manufacturing training.
