About the position
The position involves performing various operations to manufacture and fabricate sheet metal and extrusion parts using a range of machine tools. The role requires setting up and operating CNC mills, shears, brake presses, routers, and other machinery while ensuring adherence to engineering specifications and quality control procedures.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills, shears, brake presses, routers, and other machine tools.
- Plan and layout work according to blueprints and engineering specifications.
- Determine the sequence of operations and methods of setup for manufacturing processes.
- Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments for fabrication tasks.
- Perform standard shop calculations related to dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
- Monitor and verify quality using statistical process control or other methods.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience with CNC mills, routers, brake presses, and roll presses.
- Experience with drilling, routing, and sawing operations.
- Ability to read and fabricate according to blueprint specifications.
Nice-to-haves
- 3+ years of experience in metal fabrication.
- Demonstrated competency in using computers and systems for data management.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and be a self-starter.
- Attention to detail and focus on cost, quality, schedule, and safety.
