About the position
The Fabrication / Medical Equipment Technician position at Lawall Prosthetic and Orthotic Services involves fabricating prosthetics and orthotics, ensuring quality checks, and maintaining professional relationships with staff and customers. This full-time role is essential in delivering high-quality medical devices and requires adherence to company standards and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Fabricates prosthetics and orthotics including lay-ups, lamination, molding, shaping/forming, assembly, and static bench alignment.
- Conducts quality checks on materials and completed work to ensure accuracy of fit, operation, durability, and cosmetic appearance.
- Completes assigned work for device delivery per company standards.
- Determines the prosthetic needs of patients by interpreting data and measurements provided by clinicians.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
- Creates effective relationships with staff and customers.
- Ensures internal and external customer responsiveness.
- Adheres to Employee Handbook, Infection Control Policies and Procedures, and applicable protocols and standards.
- Participates in projects as needed and completes other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to initiate efforts in quality improvement.
- Flexibility to move from task to task readily.
- Recognizes issues and requirements of problems.
