About the position

The Fabrication Technician II is responsible for performing various fabrication processes, including the safe use of hand tools, understanding measuring devices, and reading blueprints. This role requires minimal supervision and involves tasks such as transporting materials, operating machinery, and assisting in metal preparation for welding. The technician must also be capable of lifting equipment and working in various physical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Transport materials and tools within the Fabrication Shop.
  • Stand fire watch and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Perform painting and blasting tasks as required.
  • Safely operate machines for cutting, bending, rolling, and shaping materials.
  • Assist in metal preparation and fit-up for welding processes.
  • Utilize basic fabrication equipment including saws, presses, and hand tools.
  • Complete any other assignments or tasks as requested by management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or trade school certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a fabrication shop.
  • Experience with common fabrication processes and equipment.
  • Possession of a valid State Driver's License is required.
  • Fire watch certification may be required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with security clearance up to secret level.
