About the position

PrideStaff is seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder for a 1st Shift position at a manufacturing company located in Fletcher, NC. The role involves performing various welding duties based on received blueprints and instructions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing welding tasks using wire welding techniques such as GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) according to specified blueprints. The position requires adjusting weld parameters to accommodate varying thicknesses of steel and stainless steel, ensuring high-quality welds that meet industry standards. In addition to welding, the Fabricator/Welder will operate and utilize related equipment and tools, including forklifts, hoists, grinders (both portable and bench), cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, and welding equipment. Accurate measurement and layout of locations for welded components are crucial aspects of the job, as is the ability to read, understand, and follow job order specifications, work instructions, and procedures. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and reporting any issues or malfunctions to the lead or supervisor. The role may require travel to customer locations for refurbishing, fabricating, or welding on equipment, particularly during the months of June to September. A commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations is essential. This position offers a family-oriented work environment and the opportunity for optional overtime, along with a clean and orderly workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding duties using wire welding GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) or GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) according to blueprints.
  • Adjust weld parameters as needed to accommodate varying thicknesses of steel and stainless steel.
  • Operate and/or use related equipment and tools including forklifts, hoists, grinders, cutting torches, hand tools, drills, and welding equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other engineering documents.
  • Minimum of two years of fabrication experience in heavy machinery.
  • Knowledge of the metric system.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel for weeks (June to September).
