About the position

The Business Process Analyst Principle is responsible for driving continuous process improvement, including audit and conformance, of the Project Lifecycle Management Process (PLMP), LEAN Studies and other Transmission process improvement initiatives. Proactively seek feedback on the Transmission wide process improvements initiatives through stakeholder collaboration, documenting process changes and driving the implementation effectively. Work with all employee and management levels to improve efficiency in the life-cycle management process and other business processes. Works independently on highly complex tasks. Coaches and develops lower-level team members.

Responsibilities

  • Design, revise and implement a full-cycle process and methodology.
  • Develop, drive and implement designed process workflows.
  • Define and monitor performance metrics (Key Performance Indicators) to measure process improvement effectiveness.
  • Develop and conduct employee training sessions that will train employees on process change, roles and responsibilities, and system standards and requirements.
  • Collect organizational feedback and analyze process change documentation in an organized and repeatable fashion to execute best practice processes.
  • Map out proposed processes with a broad and high level outlook over the entire organization.
  • Evaluate real and potential risks to projects or process implementation and make recommendations to alleviate risk threats.
  • Take a lead role in identifying business process improvement opportunities.
  • Develop reports, presentations for senior level management.
  • Coach and develop lower-level team members to improve their skill level and achieve goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Associate's Degree in Project Management, Business Process, Business, or related field.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in continuous improvement process activities, operations, project management or business analytics.
  • Proficient in MS Office package (Excel, Visio, Word, and Power Point).
  • Strong communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of AEP management.
  • Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the Company's Corporate Compliance Policy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Auditing experience and Primavera (P6) knowledge a plus.
  • Experience using Madcap Flare a plus.
  • Proficient in Documentum.
  • Participate in establishing a healthy culture of continuous Process Improvement within AEP Transmission.
