About the position

The Facilities and Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's facilities and procurement operations. This role combines supervisory and hands-on responsibilities, ensuring that building needs and procurement processes are managed effectively and in compliance with regulations. The manager will lead a team, develop policies, and ensure that all operations meet industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of COG's office space and meeting room space.
  • Directly supervise facility staff and manage requests related to building operations.
  • Develop facility policies including office operations and security.
  • Prepare solicitations and ensure proper documentation for contracts.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and manage contract administration.
  • Establish effective purchasing controls and maintain procurement records.
  • Ensure compliance with Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) requirements.
  • Coach and mentor facilities and procurement staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with relevant coursework in accounting, business, finance, law, or contracts.
  • Six years of senior contracts administration/management experience, including three years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in end-to-end management of contract and procurement activities.
  • Knowledge of procurement policies and contracting laws.

Nice-to-haves

  • Public-sector procurement or contracting experience.
  • Familiarity with DBE/MBE requirements and reporting.
  • Professional certification such as CPO, CPCM, CFCM, CPPB, or CPPO.
