About the position

The Facilities Drafter position at Rose International involves a range of responsibilities centered around drafting and design within the facilities management sector. The role requires a well-versed individual in AutoCAD, with experience in drafting, drawing, and sketching, particularly within the last five years. The drafter will be expected to walk around the site to verify measurements and ensure accuracy in the designs. Effective communication is crucial, as the drafter will collaborate with various departments, including engineering, production, and administrative personnel. In this role, the drafter will gather drawings and specifications, calculate material and equipment requirements, and set up production methods. Responsibilities include managing multiple drafting projects, conducting research, supporting design implementations as directed by engineers, and performing redline updates. The drafter will also be responsible for maintaining control drawings and ensuring that all drawings are up to date and compliant with regulations and quality standards. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential operational issues and redesigning products to enhance functionality. The drafter will create detailed designs using CAD software, prepare and review rough sketches with the engineering team, and develop manuals that describe the operation, features, and maintenance of existing products. This role is essential for ensuring that all designs meet the necessary standards and contribute to the overall efficiency of the facilities management process.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with architects and engineers to gather product and structural requirements and designs
  • Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials
  • Describe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used)
  • Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Design diagrams, maps and layouts to illustrate workflow
  • Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team
  • Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality
  • Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
  • Create manuals that describe existing products' operation, features and maintenance

Requirements

  • Technical Degree or certification from American Design Drafting Association (ADDA)
  • Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling tools
