About the position
The Facilities Engineer Specialist (Network Infrastructure and Communications) at L3Harris is responsible for designing and developing fiber network systems for facilities. This role involves planning and executing complex networking and communication projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing technical expertise in network design and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Conceive and plan a variety of complex facilities networking and communication projects.
- Provide technical advice on feasibility, planning, costs, and time requirements.
- Design and install network controls.
- Coordinate, manage, follow-up, and close-out capital projects.
- Act as a technical adviser and expert on site and building network design, control systems, operations, and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with national, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior network and communications engineering - facilities experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of network Communications Infrastructure including fiber optics, POTs lines, copper cabling, camera systems, and computer/phone systems.
- Ability to coordinate project schedules, vendors, contractors, procurement, and across functional groups to complete project milestones.
- Ability to manage, troubleshoot, and maintain existing networks.
- Broad knowledge of project management.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient with AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communications skills.
