About the position

The Facilities Engineer at Hitachi Global Air Power is responsible for supporting the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and modernization of the company's facilities and equipment. This role involves working closely with the Facilities Engineering Manager on various improvement projects and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The position is integral to the company's mission of providing efficient and sustainable compressed air solutions across various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Directly support Hitachi Global Air Power, Global M&A activities, and the Hitachi Air Centers (HACs) under the management of the Facilities Engineering Manager.
  • Plan, direct and supervise construction and manufacturing projects using project and cost planning and managing skills.
  • Assist in due diligence activities, site start-up activities, lease reviews, and asset reviews for M&A activities.
  • Develop and write technical specifications, designs, and plans for capital projects.
  • Develop layouts for existing and future project/processes/designs in AutoCAD.
  • Participate, lead, and utilize root cause analysis on a regular basis.
  • Manage all aspects of several concurrent projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to meet program targets for cost, quality, and performance.
  • Develop and communicate scope, tasks, resources, costs and timelines for projects.
  • Prepare project status reports, identify any risks to plan, prepare, and execute mitigation plans.
  • Maintain overall project cost status by reviewing and approving expenditures and labor plans.
  • Energy management, planning, and building control systems, including building automation system, energy reduction projects, reviews, and audits.
  • Direct the maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment, including the establishment of facility standards, predictive maintenance, preventive maintenance, repairs, and vehicle fleet management.
  • Develop and maintain key metrics and initiatives within the department and supporting project teams.
  • Emergency management and control, including emergency preparedness procedures, training, and disaster recovery.
  • Maintain and improve security and fire protection including access control, electronic monitoring and notification.
  • Assure Regulatory compliance to local, state, federal, and international requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar degree.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of construction and manufacturing concepts.
  • Experience with AutoCAD required.
  • Strong project management experience required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Good analytical skills; must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to adapt and implement modern technology quickly.
  • Ability to safely & effectively adapt to a fast-paced environment, changing priorities, and manage emergency situations.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required.
  • Strong leadership skills required.
  • Strong computer skills (i.e. MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required.
  • Exceptional team skills with an ability to communicate with cross-functional teams and safely meet deadlines.
  • Self-directed, a self-starter and able to multi-task and prioritize.
