About the position

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Facilities Engineering Operations Manager to lead skilled trades maintenance teams and manage remodeling projects at Saint Joseph College in West Hartford, CT. The role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, managing work orders through CMMS systems like Maximo, and ensuring effective maintenance and operational strategies are in place. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, develop teams, and maintain strong client relationships while optimizing campus building assets.

Responsibilities

• Manage work orders in CMMS Maximo.
• Conduct facility condition assessments.
• Train teams on preventative maintenance plans.
• Allocate resources for day-to-day operations on campuses.
• Interview, hire, and develop the facilities team.
• Establish and maintain effective customer and client rapport.
• Provide direction and guidance to the facilities team.
• Manage Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) operations including Maintenance, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Repair, Carpentry, Mechanical, and Environmental Services.
• Plan and manage construction and renovation projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related fields preferred.
• 5 years of basic management experience.
• 3 years of work experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations, or engineering services.
• Experience leading skilled trades maintenance teams.
• Experience with CMMS work order systems.
• Strong financial acumen for budgeting on projects and labor.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) certification is a plus.
• Environmental Services experience is a plus.
• Experience in an IFM role on a college campus or university setting.
