About the position

The Facilities / Engineering Operations Manager at The Hearthstone in Seattle, WA, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of building services, including maintenance, janitorial, housekeeping, laundry, and grounds services. This role involves project management, budget creation and monitoring, human resources management, inventory control, staff training, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, particularly in HVAC, and the ability to foster collaborative relationships with both internal staff and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee building maintenance, janitorial, housekeeping, laundry, and grounds services.
  • Create, monitor, and maintain operational budgets.
  • Manage human resources functions including staff training and safety protocols.
  • Control inventory and manage utilities effectively.
  • Develop collaborative teams and build strong relationships with client stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of management experience.
  • 3 years of work experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations, or engineering services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in college or university facilities management.
  • Strong technical skills in all trades, especially HVAC.
