About the position

As a Facility Engineering Technician at Busek Co. Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of support services that enhance productivity within the company. Your primary focus will be on the coordination of demand and supply of facilities and services, which is essential for the smooth operation of our aerospace technology development and production processes. You will be involved in various aspects of operations and facility maintenance, property management, and environmental stewardship, all within a small but innovative aerospace company located in Natick, MA. Your responsibilities will include setting up and supporting operations, as well as performing preventative maintenance on high-quality production and research and development (R&D) facilities. You will maintain the infrastructure necessary for production, which includes aerospace vacuum tanks, machining, welding, and brazing operations, as well as X-ray inspection systems. Additionally, you will be tasked with enhancing and expanding facility capabilities through necessary changes, supporting the installation and operation of specific equipment and appliances, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations as required by OSHA and ISO-9001 standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with various regulatory requirements related to facilities, including fire safety arrangements, lighting levels, signage, ventilation, and temperature control. Your role will encompass building and grounds maintenance, which includes tasks such as snow removal, lighting, landscaping, and the upkeep of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and LN2 facilities. Space allocation and utilization, along with furniture management, will also fall under your purview. This position requires a proactive approach to facility management and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

  • Setup, support operations and preventative maintenance of high-quality production and R&D facilities.
  • Maintain production manufacturing and R&D infrastructure including aerospace vacuum tanks, machining, welding, and brazing operations, X-ray inspection, etc.
  • Enhance and expand facility capabilities through necessary changes.
  • Support installation and operation of specific equipment and appliances.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS (environment, health and safety) regulations as required for OSHA, ISO-9001, etc.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements related to facilities including fire safety arrangements, lighting levels, signage, ventilation, and temperature control.
  • Perform building and grounds maintenance including snow removal, lighting, landscaping, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and LN2 facility management.
  • Manage space allocation, utilization, and furniture.

Requirements

  • Experience in operations and facility maintenance.
  • Knowledge of property management and environmental stewardship.
  • Experience with electrical installation and design.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, controller design, and installation for vacuum control systems.
  • Prior experience with vacuum systems (low, high, and UHV).
  • General maintenance experience including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building maintenance.
  • Experience in a hardware engineering company.
