Responsibilities

  • Leading project teams in developing and reviewing specifications, designs, cost estimates, and maintenance support for system modifications.
  • Reviewing specifications for compliance with customer requirements, codes, and laws.
  • Participating in or leading multi-functional teams to integrate engineering activities and collaborate with consultants and government agencies.
  • Conducting conceptual analysis to resolve asset failures and capacity reduction using reliability tools and methods.
  • Facilitating asset efficiency, availability, and maintainability improvements.
  • Assisting in condition code analysis of complex equipment.
  • Reviewing records to assess asset condition and determine appropriate actions.
  • Developing process configuration management policies and processes.
  • Generating cost estimates for equipment acquisition, installation, or modification.
  • Designing and approving equipment designs aligned with specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring equipment integration with related infrastructure.
  • Developing and implementing testing and acceptance procedures for multi-discipline equipment.
  • Assisting project management in equipment acquisition and modification.
  • Recommending equipment reliability improvements.
  • Developing bid and procurement specifications for multidimensional equipment.
  • Researching technologies, processes, materials, and methodologies for improvement opportunities.
  • Identifying strategies and tactics to address market dynamics of suppliers and products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
  • 3+ years of experience in chemical engineering and/or applied chemistry practices.
  • 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD package.
  • 3+ years of experience reading & understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in the modification and maintenance of metal finishing tank line systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in repair/replacement/upgrade chemical process system projects in a manufacturing/chemical storage/chemical off-gas environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions.
  • 3+ years of experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution, processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production efforts.
  • 3+ years of experience with acid/base solution storage and transfer processes.
