About the position

At TSMC Arizona, we are at the forefront of innovation, and we are seeking a Facilities Gas and Chemical Engineer to join our state-of-the-art 5-nanometer fab in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. This role is pivotal in sustaining, troubleshooting, and project managing systems that support our semiconductor facility operations and maintenance. Our facilities are designed to operate continuously, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring that we maintain an uninterrupted manufacturing environment. As a Facilities Gas and Chemical Engineer, you will embody our core values of Integrity, Commitment, Innovation, and Customer Trust, demonstrating reliability and enthusiasm in your work. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of gas, chemical, and slurry distribution systems. You will manage system capacity versus demand and troubleshoot any issues that arise. A strong understanding of chemical compatibility for materials used in process fluids and gases is essential, as well as knowledge of the materials of construction required to meet semiconductor high purity standards. You will provide engineering leadership to support safety, reliability, quality, environmental, and cost objectives across the site. Collaboration is key in this position; you will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to develop plans that maximize efficiency. You will conduct systems assessments and implement improvement roadmaps through capital and expense projects. Your role will also involve managing the technical, administrative, financial, and scheduling aspects of various facilities projects, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders throughout the process. Additionally, you will be responsible for the engineering analysis, design, and installation oversight of distribution systems for chemicals and gas equipment. Projects may range from the installation of a single valve manifold box to the design and installation of a comprehensive factory-wide distribution system. You will oversee project commissioning to ensure that all systems perform as designed and will create and communicate necessary project documentation, including installation procedures and checklists for commissioning and start-up. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining the high standards of our facility operations and ensuring that we continue to lead in semiconductor manufacturing.
