About the position

The Facilities Journeyist-Class A Technician at Utah Transit Authority is responsible for maintaining and repairing the company's buildings, equipment, machinery, and grounds. This role involves utilizing various skilled trades such as electrical, HVAC, hydraulic, and mechanical work to ensure the functionality and safety of physical structures. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, respond to work orders, and operate various tools and equipment, including company vehicles and heavy machinery.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair company buildings, equipment, machinery, and grounds.
• Utilize skilled trades such as electrical, HVAC, hydraulic, and mechanical for repairs and maintenance.
• Perform preventive maintenance and general maintenance of physical facilities and associated support equipment.
• Complete daily work orders and respond to maintenance requests.
• Operate company vehicles, trucks, vans, forklifts, and other heavy equipment as needed.
• Perform snow and ice removal as required, day or night.
• Install support equipment to physical structures and systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of supervised work experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
• Graduation from a UTA approved Trade Program or completion of an apprenticeship program with relevant licensing.
• Must pass a qualifying exam and own a complete set of standard hand tools.
• Must be able to obtain a Class A CDL driver's license by the end of the probationary period.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with welding, brazing, and soldering.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and refrigeration equipment.
