About the position

The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing custodial duties, maintenance, and minor construction projects for City buildings and associated operational support systems. This role ensures the efficient operation of facilities by managing repairs, coordinating with vendors, and conducting inspections to maintain safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains equipment manuals and warranties.
  • Assists with landscape plans for construction projects and ensures compliance with applicable ordinances.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of maintenance and custodial service vendors.
  • Reviews and completes work orders for requested maintenance and coordinates activities with other departments.
  • Develops and assists with bid specifications for major repairs and replacements of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and utility systems.
  • Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of City facilities for routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Performs and oversees general custodial duties needed to maintain City Hall.
  • Performs small construction tasks like wall repairs, partition installations, and floor replacements.
  • Purchases and maintains inventory of custodial and safety supplies.
  • Makes procedural and operational recommendations to the IT Director and other City leadership.
  • Conducts periodic safety inspections and ensures maintenance work is planned and completed.
  • Responsible for the set-up and arrangement of facilities for events.
  • Ensures adherence to safety protocols while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Participates in City-sponsored training as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Driver's License.
  • Electrical experience.
  • Plumbing experience.
  • Construction experience.

  • Knowledge of properties maintenance principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of building construction, repair, and maintenance principles.
  • Knowledge of electrical system installation and plumbing repair.
