About the position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician at JBS USA in Memphis is responsible for performing maintenance procedures, installing and rebuilding facility machinery, and contributing to process improvements within the maintenance department. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure the smooth operation of production machines and equipment, while adhering to safety and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and other plant equipment.
  • Resolve all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.
  • Follow all lock-out, tag-out procedures.
  • Perform conveyor belt repair, minor equipment repair, and replace parts in need of replacing.
  • Understand and determine when and what type of maintenance is needed.
  • Work on low to high voltage (24 volts to 480 3-phase volts).
  • Stand and/or crouch for long periods of time.
  • Use a ladder or scissor lift.
  • Perform welding on 18-gauge stainless steel (mig or tig).
  • Understand the tools and equipment needed to do each job.
  • Work independently and repair or troubleshoot machines and systems using necessary tools.
  • Monitor machine operations, gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machine is working properly.
  • Complete maintenance recordkeeping and keep record of all work performed.
  • Update maintenance history logs and complete required paperwork.
  • Account for equipment used for maintenance and repairs.
  • Understand and follow the company GMP policy and safety rules.
  • Clean and maintain work area.
  • May be required to work long hours and weekends.

Requirements

  • Experience in maintenance procedures and machinery installation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems effectively.
  • Knowledge of lock-out, tag-out procedures.
  • Experience with conveyor belt repair and minor equipment repair.
  • Familiarity with low to high voltage systems (24 volts to 480 3-phase volts).
  • Welding skills, specifically on 18-gauge stainless steel (mig or tig).
  • Ability to work independently and use necessary tools for repairs.
