About the position

The Facilities & Maintenance Manager at Hubbell Incorporated is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the performance and safety of the manufacturing facility in Wilmington, MA. This role involves ensuring the reliability of equipment and infrastructure, overseeing safety and environmental initiatives, and managing multiple responsibilities across facility operations, maintenance, and logistics. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in facility management and a strong understanding of manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the maintenance of all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the continuous operation of all facility systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate and supervise maintenance activities, including repairs, installations, and upgrades of equipment and facility systems.
  • Monitor and maintain facility infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to minimize downtime and improve the efficiency of production processes.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers for facility maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues related to facility systems and equipment.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and facility inspections.
  • Oversight of safety and environmental programs, including monthly reporting, statistics, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies in facility and maintenance operations.
  • Provide EHS training to employees to eliminate workplace injuries and maintain facility safety and compliance.
  • Create and manage Chemical Safety programs and drive compliance with regulatory agencies and Hubbell-specific requirements.
  • Coordinate activities with business unit and Corporate EHS managers, and onsite personnel.
  • Participate in facility planning and improvement projects, including layout changes, equipment upgrades, and expansion initiatives.
  • Oversee shipping, receiving, and scheduling operations to ensure efficient material flow and timely deliveries.
  • Assist with post-processing, 3D printing operations, and QA/QC as time allows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in facility management, maintenance engineering, or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance management software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex facility and equipment issues.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations related to facility and maintenance operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in additive manufacturing, energy management and sustainability initiatives, and/or start-up environments.
  • Certification in facilities management (e.g., CFM, FMP) or maintenance (e.g., CMRP) preferred but not required.
  • Certification in OSHA compliance (e.g., OSHA 30) preferred but not required.
