About the position

The Facilities Maintenance Manager at the Paris-Bourbon County YMCA is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of property, facilities, and grounds to ensure member safety and satisfaction. This role involves managing staff and resources, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The manager will also handle budgeting, staff recruitment, and performance evaluations while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate facility and vehicle maintenance, including planning and developing preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure that assigned vehicles and equipment are maintained according to YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Anticipate risks and implications before taking action.
  • Complete repair work and projects in a timely manner.
  • Oversee contractors working in the facility and grounds, including reviewing bids and recommending selections.
  • Work with outside agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Prepare budgets and interpret financial statements to support maintenance plans and monitor expenditures.
  • Identify and mitigate significant business, financial, and operating risks, advising management on maintenance issues.
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and direct assigned staff and volunteers.
  • Review and evaluate staff performance and develop strategies to motivate them.
  • Update facility plans periodically and develop an annual plan of capital projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in facility management or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in facility management or a closely related field.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.
  • Skills in supervision, budget management, and project management.
  • Ability and current license to drive with a record that meets YMCA standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with personal computers.
